Brick by Brick, Build a Better Future: Sustainable Westport’s LEGO Donation Drive

Donate the gift that keeps on giving — your pre-loved LEGO bricks and pieces! Sustainable Westport is partnering with LEGO’s Replay program to give those bins of old bricks in your closet a new life.

Donate your LEGO, DUPLO, Technic, minifigure, and/or baseplate pieces, and we will package them up to LEGO Replay to ensure they find their way into the hands of kids who need them most. Whether a random assortment of partial sets or a full collection, every piece you contribute sparks creativity, problem-solving, and collaborative play.

Bring the magic of LEGO to children in need. Together, we can keep those bricks out of the landfill* and in the toyboxes of kids who will cherish them. It’s a win-win for the environment and our community.

*Tiny Bricks, Big Problem: LEGO bricks may be built to last, but they’re not able to be recycled in your blue bin. They are made from a complex mix of materials that can’t be processed by most recycling facilities. And their diminutive size – most pieces are smaller than 2″ x 2″ means that they cannot be sorted in standard recycling machinery.

How to prepare your bricks:

PICK: Select any LEGO bricks or elements you’d like to donate. No need for full sets—every piece can spark creativity!

UNCLICK: Break down any previous builds to make them easier to pack.

SORT: Remove anything not on our accepted list. Packaging and instructions can be recycled.

What is accepted:

  • LEGO System, DUPLO and Technic Bricks and Elements from single or multiple sets
  • LEGO minifigures and minidolls (no need to disassemble)
  • LEGO Baseplate

What is NOT accepted?

  • Non-LEGO bricks, elements, or toys
  • LEGO sets that are already fully or partially built including Technic and Mindstorms
  • Batteries or electronic components including those which are LEGO branded
  • LEGO and non-LEGO branded merchandise and all non-brick items including apparel, storage containers, and backpacks
  • Building instructions or packaging
