Logo contest rules

APPLICATION RULES AND TERMS—PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:

By submitting a logo for this contest you agree that (and if a minor, a parent of legal guardian agrees that): 

  1. Logo criteria include the following: Containing the words “Sustainable Westport” and an icon/design; containing no more than 3 colors; consistency with Sustainable Westport Advisory Team mission, legibility in large and small formats.
  2. You must upload your logo design in jpeg, pdf, eps or tiff by 5pm, June 10, 2019)
  3. All applicants must be current or former Westport residents or workers or current or former students at a public or private school in Westport.
  4. All submissions become the property of Sustainable Westport Advisory Team and the Town of Westport, CT. Artwork submitted on paper (i.e., non-electronically) will be available for pickup by applicants in the Selectman’s Office at Town Hall from July 12, 2019 until July 29, 2019, after which time it will be destroyed. The applicant and parent/legal guardian (if the applicant is a minor) understand that Sustainable Westport Advisory Team and the Town of Westport are not responsible for loss or damage to the artwork.
  5. The applicant and parent/legal guardian (if the applicant is a minor) hereby certifies that the artwork submitted is the applicant’s original work and is not copied or traced from published photos, magazines, books, illustrations, the Internet (including without limitation free clip art), or other materials protected by copyright laws, and it has not been previously published.
  6. The applicant and parent/legal guardian (if the applicant is a minor) hereby grants exclusive, perpetual, worldwide rights to the Town of Westport and its designees, including without limitation Sustainable Westport Advisory Team, to use, alter, copy, publish, and display the applicant’s artwork for reproduction and promotional purposes as they see fit, without compensation to the applicant or the parent/legal guardian.
  7. Sustainable Westport and the Town of Westport have the exclusive right to disqualify any entry whose authenticity is questionable.
  8. If the applicant’s artwork is chosen as the contest winner, the applicant and the parent/ legal guardian (if the applicant is a minor) agree that they will make themselves available for photographs and/or videos and such photos and/or videos, along with their names, may be used for publicity including media distribution by Sustainable Westport Advisory Team and the Town of Westport. 
  9. Winners will be announced by First Selectman James S. Marpe in June 2019. The winner of the contest will receive $250.
